Why having a puppy is better than a health spa!
Research has proved what we've intuitively known all along: dogs are great for human health. An Australian Survey in 1995 (People & Pets Survey) found that pet owners suffer from less stress, get more exercise, take less medications and visit the doctor less frequently that their petless counterparts. Other research shows that pet owners have lower cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure and a longer lifespan.
As well as health benefits, there are numerous psychological boosts from having a dog around. Dogs provide a unique form of companionship, and the bond between you can be as indescribable as it is deep. And then there's the people aspect: two dog owners in the park are almost guaranteed to strike up a conversation. This just doesn't happen when you're walking solo!
