My puppy is chubby - is this just puppy fat?

While chubby puppies look very cute, it is not in your puppy's best interest to allow him or her to put on too much weight. Excess weight now can predispose him or her to obesity as an adult dog and may lead to problems such as arthritis, diabetes or heart disease in later years. Although you can use the amounts on the side of the package as a guide, you may need to decrease the amount of food your pup is receiving if weight is being gained too fast.
