How do we keep our puppy's teeth clean?
A good quality diet is always the best place to start, combined with regular veterinary check ups. Specially designed chews are available to help remove and prevent the build up of plaque and tartar that can cause gum disease and the loss of teeth as time progresses. You can find out more about these special chews by clicking here.
Teeth can also be brushed using specially designed toothbrushes and toothpaste. It is a good idea to get your puppy used to this from a young age as it is certainly helpful later on if the pup is accustomed to having their mouth and teeth examined.
Some owners also offer raw bones periodically to assist with teeth cleaning. Be aware that bones can potentially fracture teeth or cause intestinal blockages, tears and constipation. Pups with bones should be supervised closely.
